If you want to see historical sites, architecture and cultures in a smaller, more intimate way, then ..... Far Adventures Travel is right for you.
Small groups with a focus: Far Adventures Travel was organized specifically to accommodate adventuresome travelers who want the full cultural experience in "off-the-beaten-track" countries. Our adventures are centered around an archaeological, architectural and cultural agenda. Groups are purposefully kept small (no more than 7 persons) in order to facilitate easy access to sites, more direct contact with the tour leaders and to facilitate flexibility in adding sites or events to itinerary as time permits or as patrons request. We think that you like to travel to the less-traveled sites for individual reasons - but that you would prefer to visit as an "informed traveler". At periodic intervals after booking a trip, you will receive information sheets relevant to the country we are visiting. This might be historical background on an important site, or a list of recommended reading books or important but little known social customs.
Expert Tour Leaders: Our tour leaders are natives of the countries we visit. This insures that you receive a full cultural exposure to the country and a knowledgeable history of the country. The study leaders are licensed and are prepared to escort you through all phases of the tour. Our guides are specifically chosen to accommodate English-speaking travelers and who are accustomed to Western visitors.
Exposure, Experience, Education: Our clients are "travelers" - not general "tourists". The people who find our tours attractive are students of life who enjoy learning about people, historical and contemporary environments, flora and fauna around them, and sharing what they know with others. People from all backgrounds of life travel together in our tours to seek the "hidden" world of countries rich in history and culture, but not yet over-populated with tourists.
Wherever possible, we try to book our groups in hotels that are locally owned thus avoiding the major hotel chains. The hotels are quite adequate and comfortable, with pleasant and welcoming hotel staff. In booking the lunches and dinners, we will expose you to the local cuisine in good restaurants, while keeping in mind health requirements necessary for foreign traveling. We also periodically have tea or a snack in smaller family-owned restaurants which adds depth to your culinary experience.
Tours are for all ages: Although the tours are designed for the adventuresome mind, the tours are not physically over-strenuous. However travelers should be prepared for the climatic conditions and understand that many of the sites require longer driving distances than normal. In addition, we will be walking around the sites, and occasionally stony paths or uneven terrain is encountered. Our goal is to expose you to the highlights of the country while staying off the beaten path as much as possible.
Trip Cost: Our goal is to provide you with the trip that covers the major highlights of the country as well as some lesser-known sights. Part of traveling is not only to see the major historical sites, but also to feel, sense and enjoy the "every-day" events. We strive to provide this unique experience at the best possible price available. Our firm is small, with low overhead – therefore we are able to offer you a much lower price than larger firms.
