Not only does the pathway follow the line of Hadrian's Wall across England, but along the route are other historical sites and museums such as the Fort at Chesters, Segedunum, Vindolanda, Hexham Abbey, and Birdoswald Fort. The walk is not difficult and quite charming as one passes through farmers fields and lovely valleys - all clearly marked. A family of 9 wanted to discover their "roots" in Ireland by traveling together, visiting historical points of interest, as well as understanding and appreciating their Irish heritage. The trip began in a circular fashion - Dublin, County Kildare, County Cork, Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, The Aran Islands, County Donegal and back to Dublin. The trip was designed around the variety in ages - the youngest member being 5 years old and the father being 75 years of age! The family stayed in B&B's and had many opportunities for creating memories while enjoying new environments and meeting a lot of friendly Irish people!
